This my friend - is a very BAD idea....This poster is going to look like ass if you've scaned it from a mag, as a tiny image, and plan on blowing it up poster size. Unless there is something you not telling us - it's going to look very pixelated.

Well I guess well just have to see how it turns out. Dan said that he could do it without loosing too much quality, once the file is done, we'll know for sure what to do.

Worst case, I have all original BMW M posters on a DVD, and we can have them made or something.

My computer at home will handle whichever you decide on, not the work computer I'm on now. Also, Adobe Illustrator makes it so there is NO loss, so it should be just fine...just a matter of making it the right size and then making it a zip file or something...we'll see.

It will scale vector's PERFECTLY - it does not magically make pixels out of thin air with bitmap graphics though...

The "stair stepping" you see in this image will be VERY noticable blown up to 33 inches...

Don't do this from a small scan it will look like ass...

If you blow up the poster to 33" tall - a 3" segment will look like this...



Unless you are going for that blurry low quality feel...

Don't mean to be an ass - but I've created my own movie poster before for work I have done (video and film) - and you'll need to start with a high res image.

I already asked if he could scan it in superhires format. Well maybe he can, who knows. Yan rescan at 300dpi if you can, it would make the poster worthwhile.
