Cool stuff, I'm diggin the head unit. I used to do a bunch of fliers for
a couple of the clubs in south cali, but stopped when i moved up
here. I agree though, a good artist needs to know more than one
tool of the trade to be successful....
If you just use photoshop you'll starve off your abilities quickly.
I don't think there's one picture I've done to date that uses under
three programs to finish it. Another good thing that I'm trying to
press to up and coming artists Nat is the use of customizing
brushes, you can go a long way with a little knowledge now
adays.
Here lemme post a couple outta my art book, I'm really infuenced
by Japanese Mythos when I do art by hand, might be something
worth looking at.
yeah definatley custom brushes ESPECIALLY in illustrator...
but even more important in my opinion be able to do it without a computer.. i cant stress enough the importance of being able to hand sraw stuff and hand letter especially someone who will be doing logos and corporate identity
and to anyone who is getting into this as a career, be very aware that most of the things you work on will not be fun and your clients will be a pain in the ass everytime.. =)
i dunno if the up-and-comming thing was directed towards me or not but if it was... i have been doing thing profesionally for nearly a decade

Yeah I can't stress what you just said enough, it's pure evil drawing for
someone else. I doubt they have any idea how much time you put into
something, especially when people turn around and tell you what to
change. That drives me purely nuts
