Stop thinking of it as a push button starter and think of it more as a Theft Deterrant... no starter, no car starting...

Well that could be a good idea then or just use the code function on the 13 button obc if you have one. But a real car thief is just going to drag your e30 up on a rollback and drive off though.

bingo. and who the hell would go through the trouble of towing your e30 anyway? they'd probably make a shitload of noise in the process, and would gain some unwanted attention.

the removable push start is simple, and easy. no one passing by would ever consider that it would be the key to starting the car. well, that and having the key.

Sorry I dont see the point in it. IMHO

                hey guys,

first off, the reason i made this was because ive always wondered if it could work. ever since i bought my car, my lighters been broken (wont stay down when you push it in) and i have replacements but never use it anyway. also, i dont have a phone charger (even though a switch can be wired in to switch from starter to charger).

as for those who think its pointless, to each their own. but i know for a FACT that it isnt pointless. you cant start my car without both the key and the cig lighter so it doubles as a security feature. the reason you need both the key and the cig lighter is because the key turns on the fuel pump and the cig lighter powers the starter.

i couldve easily used an s2000 button, but there will be NO JAPANESE PARTS in my car! with that said, why make it obvious that i have a push start button when i can conceal it with something oem?

basically this mod is definitely worth it because i seen that cadillac commercial for the 08 cts where tha chick asked, "when you turn your car on, does it return the favor?" and my car definitely does now.

Fuck all the haters. What's the point of upgrading wheels when the ones you have work perfectly fine? This is the same argument, and it's really dumb. It's strictly aesthetic.

Why did you waste your time posting that you don't see the point?

lol the logic in that is just stupid I'm sorry. You go from turning your key to turn on the car to turning the key and pushing a button. Its adding steps to a simple procedure. Which is in no way, shape or form the same as your little "example"....

And just to put it out there I am not hating on this "mod". It may help a small time theif from stealing your car but if they really want your car then they will get it. Unless you park your car in a vault it can be stolen no matter what security devices you have.

                      2. how many people go around stealing e30's, if your not an idiot and dont leave your keys in the ignition, your shit probably wont ever get fucked with..

                      3. your just mad because you cant afford nice looking wheels.

I dont understand why people are still posting trying to argue a point of if they like it or not... If you dont like it, cool, what does it matter to you if someone else does? I can't stand the look of 14" BBS's, but people on here fucking worship the things... you dont see me shitting in their threads.

This sums it up, its his car, and if he likes it, it most certainly is not pointless. It's almost as bad as arguing about which is the better color paint. (esp. when everyone knows its Alpine. ;))

Justifing the mod on technical merits wont get very far, and is arguable either way. If someone was concerned about protecting their car from theft, this would not be the first thing I would suggest.

Interesting, why not? If something does the job better or cheaper, or even better yet, both, i'm all for it.

Maybe you need to brush up on your logic there guy, that's a perfectly valid logical argument. Need I spell it out for you? If you misinterpret what I said, then you won't understand. I simply meant that it is a mod that improves the interior feel, just as wheels change the feel of the appearance of the car.

aes·thet·ic: pertaining to, involving, or concerned with pure emotion and sensation as opposed to pure intellectuality.

Let me break that down for you. Aesthetic means that this button improves the sensation the guy gets when he's in his car as opposed to it serving a major purpose to the car functioning.

2: What's your point? This isn't really a theft deterring device.

3: I'm mad because I can't afford wheels? Right. And you drive an eta?

                              And who are you again?

arguing on the internet is like being in the special olympics, even if you "win" were still all retarted in the end.

that being said, i dont feel like arguing..
