Yeah, I have read some of the arguements before. But it looks like there was some contact between the Pontiac and the M3, and that contact set the M3 on the path towards the ravine.

Having never been on Mid-Ohio, I am just making that assessment from the numerous videos I have seen of that incident.

So what kink are you referring to?

Ah I see. Yeah, I guess without having an in-car camera showing each driver's sterring inputs, it's a bit difficult to find out who was at "fault."

There is in-car camera. And there was obviously contact. The issues are based on how far up Edwards had to be for Hand to give him room, whether or not Hand should be allowed to take that kink as an apex, when Edwards lifted, where Edwards could have gone to avoid it, what Hand could have done to avoid it, etc...

There is no clear cut fault, nor will there ever be. Different racing series allow for different maneuvers and regulations regarding passes. This particular series doesn't have an exact rule for who should have moved/backed off/etc... in a situation like that. So there can't be blame placed.

Most importantly, MO is to blame for the launch ramp. Everything besides that was a normal day at the track.

All good points, especially about Mid-Ohio and the ramp thing. The videos/arguements show that the move by either car was simple and legal, it was simply made on the wrong part of the course I guess.

It was actually a demo derby that day. Both Milka Duno & Mae Van Wyk were on track at the same time, as scary as that sounds. Of course they ended up with a head on collision at Madness.

The "launch ramp" was more of a result of massive rains that they had had that month. The access road was new, and the rain had completely eroded the soil around it.

As for the video, about 41 seconds in, in the emptier section of the bleacher, blue shirt. Wave hi to me.

Wow, I'm surprised he was alright after that. He got some huge hangtime.
