    Setup plates

Hey everyone, I'm new here and new to the bmw world. I recently bought a 89 325is to to some track days and autocross events. I'm getting out of the dirt latemodel racing world and one of the things I used a lot in car setup was setup plates that bolted to your hubs to do accurate wheel alignments and see the movement and position of your wheels under various load conditions. I may be ahead of myself as my car hasn't seen a track yet, but I thought these would be useful for the e30 as well, so I designed some to have made.

So, I still need to have the first set made and make sure it works, but I wanted to se if anyone else would be interested in a set of these. A set of 4 would be about $300, possibly less if there was enough interest.

How do these differ from the standard toe plates you can get pretty much anywhere? Genuinely curious.

These are made to support the weight of the vehicle, so you bolt them on and set the car down so you can check alignment under the weight of the car. With my latemodel I would take the coilovers off and put adjustable rods in there place. From there I could put it into its race attitude and check alignment, bumpsteer, wheel base change etc.

How will you account for the suspension "settling"?

When there are wheels mounted, you can roll the car back and forth a few lengths to get everything sitting normally.
Without doing this both alignment and ride height aren't normal, at least on my car.
