    S50 Swapped 1990 E30 325i

    Hey everyone,

I’m about to pick up this E30 and wanted to introduce myself and the car I’ll be wrenching on soon. Been lurking for a while and finally pulling the trigger.

    The car:
    1990 BMW 325i Coupe
    S50 motor (regasketed, no leaks)
Getrag 260 trans w/ Sachs clutch
    3.73 LSD
    E36 Mishimoto radiator + 16" Spal fan
2.5" straight pipe from headers back
    New OEM front suspension
    All electronics functional
    Heat works, no A/C

    Needs:
    • Master clutch cylinder (seller said he'll be replacing both master & slave by the time I pick it up)
    • Paint love — clear coat is peeling
    • Driver's rear quarter has a dent
    • Driver's seat is rough, rest of interior is decent

Overall, it’s a solid starting point for what I want raw, responsive, and fun. Planning to clean it up cosmetically, keep it streetable, and maybe see a few (more than a few) track days.

Any tips, known quirks with this setup, or threads I HAVE to read? Drop them below I’m all ears.

Looking forward to learning from you all.

Nice pickup. If you're looking to track the car, I'd grab a spare E36 radiator in case the Mishimoto springs a pinhole leak. I would also consider front camber plates just about a requirement, otherwise the car will understeer badly. Verify the Spal wiring to ensure it is bulletproof, as it's the only thing keeping air moving when the car is stationary. Aside from that, maybe get a spare brake light switch to keep in your track toolbox, and get out there and have fun!

Thank you for the response. I wasn't sure I was going to get anything! I was also considering picking up this brace (and maybe all their braces) from garagistic.

THE ULTIMATE X-BRACE FOR THE E30/E36 We've redesigned our E30 and E36 cross brace for even more added structural rigidity to make this the best underbody bracing for these chassis. The newest version of our X brace is full billet aluminum and offers significant weight savings over previous designs while maximizing the

Any parts, pieces, Knicks or knacks you can think of, throw em my way. Thanks!
