Anyone have HP+ pads handy that can look up numbers off the backing plates?

Just received a set of new HP+ pads...I think. The backing plates read:
    Hawk Performance
    HPS
    Hawk-7266-2-FE
Wouldn't expect 'HPS' to be shown there. Can anyone confirm I have the correct/incorrect part? Leaning towards incorrect, as this would be the third set of incorrectly packaged Hawk brake pads in the last ~9 sets, across two different vendors and cars (e30 M3 and e30 325is). Seems like QC is lacking a bit. The HP+ pads on my M3 are too worn to read anything.

    Thanks in advance,
    Chris

yeah, you have the wrong pads. Mine say HP-PLUS, I couldn't make out of the full part number but it looked like Hawk-7266-2C-??

Wow, I never even considered checking part numbers on all of the Hawk pads I've been through... Something I will definitely start doing.

That's what I was afraid of. Thanks for the info!

Based on my experiences, I'm checking every single hawk product I ever receive from them. On my e30 M3, I twice received pads that looks almost exactly right, but they didn't actually fit in the caliper (backing plate was for a different fitment or just made incorrectly). So now I also compare the pad shape to another set of take-offs when I receive them. Otherwise I'd probably find out at the track halfway through a DE.

        Thanks again,
        Chris

I had this same issue. Just got a set of HPS pads and the backing plate is about an 1/8th of an inch too small, so the pad moved in the caliper, making a shit load of noise. I always thought Hawk was the way to go, but I haven't been impressed at all lately.

Actually these happened to me. Found out the ghard way at an hpde event. Ordered HP+ got HPS. Not sure if this is a mis-packaging by Hawk or a wholesaler/vendor thing. HP+ say HP PLUS in white laser? printing lettering.

For the track, yes. But HT10 don't actually slow the car at autocrosses, and I'm sick of trying to get that dust off the wheels from street driving.

So I'll be swapping the fronts once I get down to the paddock inn on Friday before SPR.:D

On the M3, my issue was the opposite. I couldn't even get the pad into the caliper because the "ears" on the end of the pad were shaped slightly wrong. Kind of a PITA to jack up the car and pull the calipers before noticing. And since I didn't have any spares, I did this *twice* before finally receiving a third set that actually fit.

                    Check your parts!
