what type of mounts do you guys like?

I bought some IE mounts not too long ago off a member here (got a good deal on them) and they totally eliminated all the slop...I felt them the first day I put them in, but I forget they are there now. Almost feel like stock.

yeah thats what im afraid of IE's urathanes arent supposed to be too hard though.....thanks for plugging in

Yes. Easy, and cheap. I have always loved solid mounts in my projects. With the big, lopey cam, the whole car goes into a resonant side-to-side wiggle sometimes. It makes me smile.

they are made with 80a poly which is softer than 75d.

IE yellow poly mounts have done an awesome job on my street/track hybrid... although people advice against them because some have experienced them melting. My headers are heat wrapped just in case. engine = s52. feels awesome, don't vibrate at all. Stock e36M tranny mounts though, the IE poly mounts made my car feel like a 240hp'd blender.

yeah im already stocked up with braces, tower reinforcements, so on.
guess ill stay with the pollys and i could always upgrade. I would rather abuse new $50 bushings than my old expensive drivetrain.

Just want to make sure you know he is talking about reinforcing the mounting ears on the subframe. Like the kit AKG sells.

Solid mounts like akg are a totally different beast than poly's. If this is going to be your track car, then feel free to go aluminum. But you will feel every movement and vibration of the engine throughout the entire car. The car will definitely feel much tighter and more responsive, but be prepared for a drastic change in going from a nice street/track car to an all out race car.
