    Trailing Arm Bushes, Materials?

Ok, so in my race car build thread I spoke about Poly Propelene Bushes. I noticed that when I removed the rear suspension from the car that they were already starting to deform slightly and this was without any driving on them, just some pushing about and a couple trips on the trailer.

So I ask this. I can only seem to find people who make Poly Urethane bushes. I figured because the rest of the car is solid mounted is there nothing else a bit harder, maybe Delrin?

I assume that I haven't seen any ally bushes due to the fact that bushes twist under load, or am I off here?

I contemplated making a Spherical bearing and/or rod end setup but it's just too much work and I don't want the hassle right now I just want to get the car rolling and done. That project can be saved for my spare subframe and trailing arms.

check out the 75D poly bushings that AKG makes. I am very happy with them on my car.

yeah, a stiffer material like delrin or 75d urethane is the way to go.

75d is not delrin though. ;)

I'll be using delrin ones that i'm making for my car. Make sure they have a metal sleeve/pipe on the inside surface.

You can re-use the inner steel sleeve from your stock bushings, and make delrin bushings that will press into the arms and pivot on the sleeve. It worked for me.

                  Thanks guys.

I thats exactly what I was thinking is just making up some Delrin bushes, as the only bushes that are locally available are the Powerflex ones. I don't have the time to wait for the shipping on international ones.
