    Dead Pedal??

I was wondering if anyone has tried welding in their own dead pedal on their track prepped car?
I always thought a good dead pedal is important, as you need a good place to plant your foot to stabilize yourself sometimes.
So wondering if anyone has welded their own in?

It does but when you remove the carpeting there is not much there.

there are cheaper alternatives than welding. $75usd each.

Instead of welding the dead pedal to the cage, consider instead welding it to some some cage clamp device that allows you to adjust it's position on the cage.

This is how my cage builder did my dead pedal.

Excuse the dirty car I needed to vacuum it out but was to lazy before I took pictures.

I made my own. Took maybe 1 hour. I just bolted it to the floorboard and firewall. I don't know what gauge steel I used, maybe 1/8"? It's sturdy and does the job.

I love my Massive dead pedal, just bolted it down tight, it's not going anywhere and it's sturdy as can be. Why do you need to weld it?

Well welding could make it simpler to design, I can also just bolt in in always. Since I do not have a full cage yet, just a roll bar, it will have to mount on firewall and floor.

I think everyone's favorite hick racer JGood got a piece of pressure treated 2x4, cut it to 6.5" in length, drilled two 1/2" counterbores with a Forstner bit on 4" centers, then put some 3/8"x1.75" hex bolts sourced from True Value hardware to secure it to the E30s floor. A little bit of grip tape and you're in business.

                              Total cost: $5.24.
