Mine is SA2005, Im assuming the helmet is still good then?

IIRC, NASA and BMW CCA limit the rating to five years, meaning you wont be able to use the SA2005 in 2011. I could be wrong.

Indeed. You are wrong. ;-) Lifespan is 5 years after the next standard. Therefore a SNELL2005 will be replaced in 2010, so the SNELL2005 helmet is good until 2015.
