    Urethane trailing arm bushings

Currently looking for traling arms urethane bushings. IE has them for about $59.00 while AKG has them for... $100.00 and everyne else is importing the Powerflex at $139.00 (I think they are British).

Anyone on this forum distributes IE parts and has them in stock?

    Your thoughts.

I don't want to slime IE, but I'd go with AKG.

Because AKG's bushings are better quality...

Personally I'm a fan of rubber OEM bushings, or spherical for a race car.

I contacted IE after reading that "International orders" were submitted to a $25usd surcharge... Jeff then told me that the surcharge can be waived if the order is "substantial" enough. Hmm... Bummer. All I want is a set of trailing arm bushings. Not to redo the complete suspension.

Honestly, I am a bit perplex. I send shipments on a daily basis to the US, Canada and Europe, and it doesn't take more time for either country to fill out paperwork. $50 or $2000 shipment takes the same time. As a sign of my appreciation of IE's international order surcharge, I will rather order from AKG ;-(

From the used parts I've seen, the AKG parts also hold up far better than the IE parts, so you really aren't missing much

Or you can order them and have them shipped to someone in the states , and then shipped over to you, if you are set on IE bushings. Not a big deal and no surcharge.

I bought IEs but didn't/couldn't install them because of how much they distorted when trying to install. I decided to go with stock for my car... if I did it again on a more dedicated track car I'd go w/PowerFlex.

Lee, I have a set of brand new IE trailing arm bushings. I don't need them so I'll make you a good deal if you still need them.

How noticeable is the difference between poly and OEM TABs? I'm sure mine have been up for replacement for a long time.

Lee - don't the rear e30 trailing arms move up and down slightly different over the left and right mounting mounts? If that's true, wouldn't anything other than rubber or spherical mounts present even a little bit of bind?

What I mean is since the rear of the e30 gains negative camber as you lower it only suggests that the trailing arms left and right mounting points do not rotate over the same axis (if they did, there wouldn't be any negative camber gain?) no?

Both mounting points are on the same axis. They are perfectly aligned. Don't worry. The camber and toe induced when car is lowered or has body roll is because of the angle of the subframe, where the trailing arms are mounted.

                        How to stiffen trailing arms.

Bummer! I didn't go with poly mounts when I re-freshed my suspension because I was told they would bind (when used in trailing arms)... doh.

Hey Jean. Soft trailing arm bushings, such as the rubber one, will compress when cornering hard, allowing the trailing arms to "float".
