those are pretty cheap for dtm style mirrors. but i think they look weird on e30s.

i'd be really surprised if there was a significant weight saving. maybe 1 lb or so. but 5-7 lbs? no way. aerodynamically, sure - the E30 mirrors are wide and flat.
I was thinking the same exact thing. The heaviest part of the mirror is the glass, and that will remain (but maybe just a smaller piece).
Our car's are bricks. You don't need numbers to back it up. Take your hand, push it through the water perpendicular to your palm, then parallel. What flows better? Parallel. Water is just a denser version of air (they're both fluids.)

Yes, they are very cheap. Cheap enough for me to order a set to check out.. I'd like to use a set of those on my track car. They don't look quite right, but the aerodynamic increase over the barn-door mirrors is undeniable at the speeds my car is capable of [when running]..
