    First Auto-X! ---MORE VIDEOS---

I did my first auto-x this afternoon and I must say it was a fucking awesome time! It was the first event of the season so there were 100+ cars there and a pretty simple course. My car was definitely underpowered in the straight section, but I held my own in the curves for a first-timer.

One of my runs (mis-judged my speed going into the chicane at the end):

    Ted's first run:

    More vids to come!

I'll let Ted (uofom3) chime in and give his opinion of the whole thing.

Yeah, no shit! It sucked. I'm 99% sure it had to do with my tire pressures. I'll have to fool around with them next time.

I know what you mean. I have ruined many a run by having wacked out tire pressures. I always start the day off with 42-44psi up front and 40 in the rear and work from there.

What a turnout! Our previous record was 149 drivers. We had 105 in the morning and I am not sure about the afternoon, but it had to be around 70 or so. Too bad we only got 3 runs but we might stiil be running if we got 4. I couldn't quite beat my kid in the M-Technic but it was still a blast. Lots faster than last year with the m20 in it. M50s rock! Both Ted and Ken looked good for first timers. I challenge the rest of you e30 guys to join us. If you don't have fun, I will refund your entry money out of my own pocket.! :D I bet Ted and Ken are still grinning.

i had a hell of a good time out there!! i will be in for the rest of the season for sure! doing even this auto-x has given me perspective as to why:
              - race tires really are important
              - a properly placed shift light is not just for the fast and furious crowd
              - i wish i had my harnesses help
              - race prepped VW's are faster than shit ;)
Bump to david and evan for once again being great guys, really helping me and ken out, and helping make sure everything was right to get us going! we'll get their videos up soon, those two can just flog that mtechnic around... people were joking while on of them was running that,"damn lumbra's... too f'in fast in that bmw"...
Riding with ken was really fun, and it seems really fuckin fast from the passenger seat! ken was really smooth in his run, and the 318 IMO performed really well!
This really was fun, and I will do it every chance i get... now its on to PIR!

Icebreaker autocross results are posted. e30s placed 6th and 14th overall out of 179 drivers! don't ask which one I was :D

Edit: I miscounted. There were 195 drivers, not 179.

I'll be posting more videos of the runs soon. Evan and David make it look way too easy.

What is under the hood of that car? It sounds sick.

The engine is your basic stock m50 with a chip and free-flow exhaust.
