I would seem e30pq has mounted the uprights to the rear chassis making for far less flex.
Rear Wings?

Yes and no. If you want to remove the boot lid you would need to remove the wing but we don't have much in the trunk that needs our attention.
The battery is still in there but we have a jump point under the hood if we need to jump start it.
We did a rear shock adjustment at the track last weekend and we did it with the wing still installed. Just unhooked the 4 pins and held the lid while the other person did the adjustment (2 man job).Comment

Unfortunately, the BMWCCA rules limit how far off the back bump your wing can go. It would be very difficult to adhere to the rule and install the wing off the back of the car.Comment

You guys are awesome. Thanks for all the info. APR wings are the ones I have been looking at but unfortunately my budget at the moment is closer to the $100 wings from ebay rather than the $300 APR wings. I am wondering if a $100 wing from ebay is a better than nothing approach, and I am also planning on adding a front splitter to offset the additional rear down force OR should I not waste my time with the $100 wing and home made front splitter.Kevin Gibson

first question, are you running any kind of data like a traqmate or race keeper?
the great thing with NASA is it allows us to "run what you brung" and experiment with setup. Alot of fun.
I did a homemede front splitter on my E30 and it helped on the banking at HMS, not any faster just smoothed it out a little. My concern with the Ebay wings are them bending at speed, the generally say somewhere on the page that they are not intended for racing.
90mph through T1 you could benefit from a wing, but I would really want to see the data between with wing and with out, on the same day.Brian JacobsComment

I've seen that video earlier this year.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LnmD...layer_embedded

It looks like the driver gets the left wheel over the left curbing which will pull the car left. Does that cause the spin? Once the car rolls the wing is going to break off or get crushed.
I can't remember the thread where I first saw that but my next question would be if the car following (assuming someone was close by) saw the wing break off causing the spin and roll.
One thing I recall about the thread (I think it was Bimmerforums) was that people had a hard time believing that the car was at 148mph.Comment

Will a regular factory wing give any down force up to 180? I deff need one but do not want to drive around the streets with such a huge wing. ATM there is no wing at all.Need a Turbo manifold? We have them in stock- Click here---> http://rapidspoolindustries.com/
