Lee, do you have any specs on these group A 325i's? I've been trying to dig up anything about the chassis or motor but cant find anything.

These cars were also raced in Europe, in parallel with the 635CSi, until the coming of the M3. Most likely around 1985-1986. Very limited info exists. I remember the 323i having its own champonship in the UK. But on limited preparation.

I am sure you already know that a stock 323i weights about 2380lbs. Gut it and fit a cage, the overall wight remains about the same. That's light for a racecar when you consider a US e30 weights 2750lbs

Have you checked Jeremy Walton's book on the 3 serie? Tons of inside info there. It's now a collector and is pricey though.

Thanks for the info Lee. Definitely going to check that book out... Even at that ridiculous price.

The lip on the front wheels appears to be larger than the rear.

I can solve that. Especially if your 30 is already black ;-)

The entire wheel is different. Look at the wheel centers. No biggie, lots of different wheels they used back in the 80s... As long at the pin drive is 5x120, I don't think it would have mattered as the center nuts are all standard anyways.

                          Ah, yeah.

Looking closer you can see the locking nut is recessed in the one wheel and not the other.

I would so love those wheels! I can get the center lock hubs, just the wheels are a pain here.

In racing, form follows function. A car with a wide front track is more stable and has better turn-in. Therefore, the guys who built that car probably didn't care that much about the front wheels not being the same as the rear ones.

Pretty expensive for the local market.
Prolly be sold overseas, which would be a shame.
