    first autox of the season..

..was yesterday. It went pretty well, my car ran great (considering I don't even have a working TPS right now), kudos to the fresh valve adjustment. I'm going to have to do that one more often! anyway I ended up with a 47.311, about 1 second slower than a more experienced driver in a 325i with race tires. I wasn't expecting to win (4door automatic 325ix? hrmmm) and I didn't, I placed at the bottom of my class (IC). haha!

But considering the guys who won that class had stripped out interiors and who knows what else, and I'd just been driving my car to school and work for the past 8 months, I didnt' feel too bad about being 3 seconds slower :P

and at least I did better than the novices, more than a few of them with much faster cars (WRX sti? hrm.. 56 seconds? lol!).

it was fun, but autox sucks.. :x I was there for about 4 hours and I only "raced" for a total of 2.4 minutes. I guess you get what you pay for...

My last autocross was $50 bucks and I got in about 30 40 second runs :)
But to be fair nothing beats a real track day.

yeah, it was pretty full too. there was a gang of burly ass Subarus, but none of those guys could drive to save their lives.. there were also a few E46s (one M3), and none of those guys could drive either. A Lotus showed up too but I forgot to check it out before I left.. oh well. ;)

I'd do the bremerton one but that's just too far for me to drive to get in ~3 minutes worth of racing. we should try to get more E30s together, there was only one other E30 there and I already knew the owners. :P

Nando, you totally missed one of the best cars that showed up to the autox. There was a blue 67 mustang with a twin turbo 400, full cage, 4-6" fender flares, and the motor was set entirely behind the front wheels. With a nice set of It was a sick car that was a little too large and powerful to run well on the autox, but it was a sweet car. I have a few pics if someone is willing to host them.

I saw it, but I didn't check it out. I wanted to stay and watch the afternoon group run, but I had a shitload of homework to so I left..
