rollbar or stick to factory 3-pt unless your just looking to look racy. harnesses, rollbars and fixed back seats work as a "system" to provide safety. they do not work in isolation.

Would it be considered safe to run a fixed seat with OE seatbelts?

Depends on the seat. The wings may be too high for a three point harness (especially the lap belt) to work.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Ah I understand. I was searching around for new seats and really like the Cobra Imola, just not sure if Im comfortable with all the harness/rollbars situation. I guess a non-fixed seat may be better. I really liked these ones though and priced pretty good too

            Heres a pic of them:

The 3-point belt latch and harness will also have to go thru the side openings, not OVER the sides.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

as jim and lee mentioned, i would not use a 3-pt belt with that seat due to the way the belt would need to be routed. if you need a more streetable setup that you can still utilize the 3-pts with look for something similar to a recardo srd which has higher bolsters for better support.

Yup. Get a Recardo. It is a knock-off from the famous Ricardo ;-)

So going off this topic, would it be considered safe to go with something like a RECARO SRD and the Schroth 4 point, or would it be better to go with the SRD and keep the stock 3 point if I don't intend on installing a cage and 6 point harness?

4-points are not safe. Got banned from motorsport 25 years ago for a reason.

Keep it 3-points. And if you want stay still in your seat, then get a CG Lock. It works great.

just my 2 cents on stock belts/seats vs. harness bars and 4/5pt belts:

i just rolled an e30 a few months ago, and if i'd had a harness bar and 4pt on i would have died. the stock belts allowed my body to fall/slide out of the way of the roof (completely crushed in down to dash level). i've always known this, but just puttin out there incase anyone doesn't believe it: harnesses and bars without a cage is death!

edit: also the stock seat-back gave and fell sideways, not sure if this was good or bad, probably good.
