No, the BMW ECM goes away entirely. The GM PCM (Powertrain Control Module) controls the new engine, in OBD2. Every thing works except the SI service interval lights, and the mpg functions of the little computer module.
A/C, cruise control work normally. The GM PCM controls the EVAP system and emissions related O2 sensors, etc. The GM PCM controls the tach and fuel pump and cooling fans. On our '86 325es, five wires from the new engine go thru the round plug by the fusebox, and 8-9 wires go from the GM PCM to the MIL light, control of emissions, etc. Everything is detailed in the CD. Piece of cake.Leave a comment:

Garrett, I emailed you about the kit. I'll send another email to buy the CD to tie me over until you make another run. Thanks.Leave a comment:

I'm interested, but have to do a little more research first.
I need to know a little more about the electronics... the PCM, gauges, sensors... Do you use the e30 PCM as it is OBD2?Last edited by POPtheoriginal; 05-29-2012, 01:08 PM.Leave a comment:

Two days after finding out you're out of kits and there are already 4 interested. Do you need 10 people on board before you make another batch?Leave a comment:

Yes, we're still here ... we have sold the last of our run of ten kits. We may do another run of ten ... show some spark! otherwise, we do have CD's for the DIY guys, or those who want to know what is involved in doing our swap.Leave a comment:

I'm interested. He hasn't responded to my email, however. So, that's two.

Dual mounting ear E36 rear diff cover.
I'm not sure if you can use the 94mm output flanges from an M30 car, or if there are axles that will work with those flanges in the E30 suspension.Leave a comment:
