Edit: And now you're suggesting an M42 stroker? For a whopping 140 or so rwhp?

I can't imagine what you'd have to take off the rear to get it that much lighter.
I have a table of BMW engine weights, probably engine only: (this is in kilos)
M42: 100
M20: 117
M50: 135
M52: 118 euro, 140? us
M54: 126
S50: 152
S52: 152
Provided I have a FG hood that's 12kg lighter than stock, that makes me only 20something kilograms heavier. I'd be pretty damn close with the M52 (alloy block?). Not saying anything about handling, that'll probably depend on how you place the M/S5x, just trying to clear things up a bit.
And if I were to gut my car, I'd start with carpets, lighter front seats, sunroof delete, el. window delete, front window glass delete (if rules allow) etc. Pretty much all things on the front half of the car. I don't think it would be very hard to balance it out nicely.Last edited by Fusion; 09-02-2010, 06:52 PM.
