I appreciate you're attempt to try and provide information for consideration, but you're not giving the correct information.

"$730 shipped" is accurate to your specific location. Shipping costs will be different depending on the buyers location, whether the bar is being sent to a commercial address or a home address, etc.


An Autopower bolt in cage may cost only slightly more, but as demonstrated above, the fitment is sub par, the saftey effect is less (it leaves far more "crush" space between the chassis and the roll cage), and the trade-off's when it comes to usability of the car is substantially more.

If you're looking for a budget option, to park at your local get together meet, and want to have that full on race look... an Autopower is the way to go.

If you want a legitimate safety device for driving schools, auto-x, etc. the VSR bar suits that bill perfectly.

Nothing beats a fully custom built cage for a race car/track day car that never sees street time.

So profound & true. I have an AutoPower 4-point in a friends' garage rafters. Decent enough for the occasional track day, but that's about it. Going more dedicated, get a full cage and go with custom fab work. Your life has to be worth the 1 or 2Gs it costs to put in.

I have a VSR bar installed in my car, the fit is very nice It clears my drivers seat very well im running a sparco EVO solid floor mounted with VAC seat adapters. The passenger seat also fits fairly well since there is no pedals or steering wheel the passenger seat doesn't need to be slammed back.
One thing I did find out though, is that if you intend to run stock belts you will need to fab a lower seatbelt hold down as the factory one is too wide to fit between the bar and the pillar. Also if you intend to run a headliner still with the bar, make sure to remove the center section if you order yours with the removable one this will ensure you don't put a nice gash in your headliner(I speak from exp lol)..

Very glad I saw this thread right now, just about to order a bolt in roll bar for my car. Hadn't even heard of VSR but that looks like the winner.

Can you easily run two front seats with a VSR bar? I see the indentation for the drivers seat.

No, our bars are not on back order?
They are built to order. We don't have a surplus sitting around. That takes up too much space.

It takes ~1 week to have them fabricated.

I bought an Autopower rollcage 15 years ago for my 2002. I removed then it and spent the money on a full blown rollcage that complies to all current regulations, and more. I guess that my life is worth it. As a rule of thumb, custom cages will better hug the car's interior, will better clear the driver, and most likely will be safer. I don't like bolted cages as they are usually not part of the car's structure - the rockers.

that cage sucks..could work with a little heat to spread the front legs apart and stack some floor plates for more head clearence

Already sold. There were so many problems with its design. I'd pay $3k for a basic custom cage over using that $500 POS and trying to make it work.
