don't over-think it. make the car safe and reliable and focus on driving clean. all the diffs won't help when you get penalized and made to write " I shall not spin" 1000 times on the car.. Don't ask me how I know :)

        Hahahaha!

Well the eta we bought has an LSD in it now, which supposedly was factory ordered with the car. We have the original dealer receipt and it's not listed on there. We want to put a shorter open diff in there so not to get dinged for 100 BS Laps. I'm just not sure which one to put in there. We have a small case open 4.10, but I think it may be too short. Top speed would be ~98mph in 5th at 4500rpms.

Our Lemons car is an eta as well, with a factory LSD. We got dinged 100 BS laps the first race. 4.10 should be fine, I wouldn't worry too much about top speed if I was you :)

Exactly what we're trying to avoid haha. But I'm sure our coil-over kit will put us out of the running anyhow haha. I have the paypal receipt proving a $225 purchase price. It's pretty beat, and one strut was toasted.

I'm thinking the 4.10 should be good... extra "oomph" out of the corners.

We did it with a 4.10 LSD. It was OK, but a 3.73 or a motor that could turn about 6K would have been a little better. We hit the rev limiter a lot coming into the home stretch and had to go from 3rd to 4th, which was too far of a jump for such a short run. Otherwise, there are much bigger things to deal with, like a mustang coming at you backwards and on fire....

Penalty laps aren't a big deal at all, especially for Sears Point. There are so many super experienced and super fast teams that have dialed their car in for the track and have drivers who could navigate the course backward and blindfolded, so winning isn't really something to get your hopes up about. Coilovers are going to get you some grief, especially on an E30, but a case of good beer goes farther than most people think it does. At least you're not running a miata!

Good to know! Thanks for the info.

There will be beer-bribes a plenty! We're coming from Portland afterall!

I'm sure we'll catch flack for the coilovers, but they're pretty janky :). I'm more worried about the yellow shocks that accompany them ;).

Apparently PFC06 are on nationwide backorder, I'm trying to track down a set oh HT-10s locally but having a hell of a time. Any other suggestions?
