I would recommend not getting one of the basic hex style weld on ones as there is quite a bit of slop in them. I've got the NRG and am pretty happy with it, inexpensive, no slop and it only goes on one way so you don't have to worry about your steering wheel not being centered. There are quite a few threads about QRs in the bimmerforums track section.sigpic

In my opinion the best quick release is a Snap:Off Race release (see http://www.tekniqauto.com/US/snapoff/snapoff.htm). It only goes on the column in one position, is easy to get on and off, and has no slop when the wheel is mounted. The hub release types are harder to get on and off and frequently don't rigidly lock the wheel to the column. The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

+1 on this, I have this in my car, goes on one way and no play in it whatsoever...Greg 1987 325is (fairly far from stock at this point)

^^^ this is one I have also and like it but i have to wonder, you need to pull in both pins to release,So if i ever got in an accident and broke an arm, it's impossible for me to get out of my car ..NASA
