    Smart dash wheel speed sensor

I'm working on getting a wheel speed signal to my RT Dash2 (no DL1). Anybody done something similar?

Diff sensor: mine has no continuity...ever. So, either the sensor is bad, or my custom diff is missing the trigger wheel.
-Sensor has two wires, so this means I'm dealing with a VR sensor right?

I'm trying to decide on my options here.

    Would you?
-Try to figure out what's wrong with the existing sensor and wire it up using a signal conditioner (like $140 from RT...ouch!)
-Wire a hall sensor up to the driveshaft. If so, where would you mount it? Would a generic sensor be any less effective than the $60 RT one?

if anything hit up a junkyard around you and pick up another sensor and try that. also if you know someone with a OE diff. measure the spacing of the trigger wheel to make sure you didn't move yours out of range.

Grab a mirror, pull the sensor, LOOK FOR TRIGGER WHEEL?

Good call, but would it be even be worth the effort if it's a VR sensor? Since the signal needs to be conditioned. Short of the mounting challenges, it seems like a hall sensor might be more appropriate. Maybe more accurate? I have no idea.

Will do. For some reason I figured I wouldn't be able to see it.

So have any of you actually made the diff sensor work with a smart dash? All this wiring stuff gets a little crazy. Does anyone have a specific example of how they wired this up?

Pretty sure the diff sensor is just a switch (aka hall sensor).

Well I connected a different speed sensor. It had continuity and looked good. So, I attempted to wire it to the dash. Messed something up (no idea what) and fried it. So, now I'm way back behind square one. This thread to be continued once I make the dash work again....hopefully.

Uhoh, I hope you get it fixed. Seems to me you're using the same dash that I have my eyes on too...
