xxlbimmer - the quality looks very nice. I think a bolt-in bar better suits my needs as the car still sees some road use. I don't want to have to strip out all of the interior for welding and painting.

Used bolt-ins don't pop up too often :(

Nobody ever thinks of this, but if you ever plan to add a full cage later, don't get a weld-in bar. Adding the front half of a cage to an already welded in bar is either impossible or stupid, depending on how high your fabricators standards are.

Two bolt-in options that are worth your money:

                VSR ($$$, best fitment)
Kirk ($$, not as good fitment and heavier)

Autopower is cheapest by far, heaviest by far, and has the worst fitment and smallest mounting feet.

Kirk is in the lead at this point based on cost and good fitment. How much heavier is the Kirk? I can't imagine it'd be too much.

Seriously, for what you are doing, the weight is not an issue. Like that extra couple pounds will keep you from winning the HPDE championship?

Get the Kirk if it pleases you. It is a good quality piece.

^ what he said. I don't know the weight difference off-hand, but it's in the realm of 5-10lbs.

Just a thought... Chris, any reason why you couldn't make a bolt-in bar? Same bends, same tubing - you just wouldn't have to weld it in place for the guy.

I'm all for supporting local businesses. Seems like a good cost effective way to go about it since you already have a car to work with to get the shape right. Local pick-up > shipping for cost.
