    FX1 Pro seats

Anybody running these? I am looking to switch to these from my Targa RS seats to get a little more knee support.

Yep. My ass starts to hurt after about 20 minutes, my legs start falling asleep after about an hour, and after about 2 hours, if I don't get out and walk around, my whole body just shuts down and I die.

It's good for a cheap track car seat if you don't drive to the track. It's fairly supportive and does it's job. But the long drives to the track in this seat are horrible. It's a little flexy too... you get what you pay for.

I bought one off of Craigslist for pretty cheap. I sat in it in my living room for about 5 minutes and determined that I wouldn't be installing it. The bottom is totally flat with about 1" of foam padding. My advice is to skip it and look for something higher quality.

I've got a pair, and they're not bad, but I haven't done any long drives yet.
Shoulder support is good. Ass cushion lacks a little. Knee cushion does not really apply to me since I'm 6'4".
I didn't like the way they felt sitting in my living room, but once I installed them, they feel much better. Maybe a little more lower back support is all I'd need.

If I were more involved in racing, and driving the car more, I would probably put up the $1500 for some Cobra Imola Pros.

Unfortunately 500per seat+ seats are out of my budget, there are just other things I still need to get first to make the car faster but the current seats will need to go.

TRS seats have very flat bottom sections, there is no "hump" at the front so the knees are kind of in the air and it sucks when autocrossing.
          See - http://www.soloracer.com/trsmicrosuede.html

I thought the FX1 Pro seats have been updated to make them more comfortable on long drives etc.... my long drives are about an hour each way to fairgrounds so maybe I'll be ok?

Did you guys have an older or newer versions? See below.

The Corbeau FX1 Pro is the little brother to the FX1 seat. What makes this seat special is its extreme comfort and ability to fit in almost any vehicle. Based on feedback from customers, Corbeau adjusted the width of the seat to make it narrower, added some additional padding, and made this seat one of the most comfortable fixed back fiberglass seats on the market today. The FX1 Pro will fit drivers up to a 36" waist. It comes with both side and bottom mounting points and is available in Black cloth w/Black, Yellow, Blue, or Red cushion inserts, or the NEW black microsuede with leather high wear patches.

I think they are talking about how they designed the FX1 Pro, in comparison to the FX1. If they made the FX1 Pro any narrower then it was, only 100lb girls would fit in it.

I could be wrong though. Maybe place a call/email to Corbeau or Soloracer to find out?

No doubt, they're narrow! I'm 6'4", weighing in at buck-fifty. They're very snug on me.

BTW, I've got the new microsuede ones. It's supposed to be more durable. It gets a little hot to sit in, but they look trick in a fully finished interior.

I am going to see if I can find a local dealer with these and see how they fit me.

Yep, current TRS seats are MicroSuede and they don't fade like the older cloth ones. :)

Get a used or expired pole position. You can find them for $300 if your patient. Very comfy.

Used Sparco Evo for sale. I used to DD this seat in my swap car and it's not that bad IMO.

Awful seats, they flex like crazy and feel like crap.

Try an ultrashield seat, a little time spent adding foam will make it comfortable all day long.

They don't need to be comfortable, not a DD.

I do not have FX1 seats but have tried them in several cars and very unimpressed with the quality. For the money you are much better off with either a tube frame seat or an aluminum seat. I actually like the forza seats better than the FX1's because of the flexing.

Ultrashield and Kirkey both have great seats around $300 each with cover. Do the custom measurement thing and you will not find a better fitting or more supportive seat anywhere near the price range. The rally sport and road race versions are good depending on how much bolster you want.

Driving ergonomics are very important so it should be comfortable. Spend the time to get it right. With the aluminum seats it only takes a little bit of foam padding cut up and glued to the cover.
