First time on the track in a rented Polo GTi. TSi motor is a twin charged 1.6 pushing 180hp. Upgraded brakes, tires, suspension and a roll bar. Time was ~12 minutes on my laps two laps. the track? Nurburgring :)

not really, the Scion FRS is FAST on track; suspension is better than s2000.
~2700 lbs also; An experienced driver probably can pull 1:48 out of a stock FRS

Lol, most actual newbie drivers are in 2:00+

To be under 2 you've got to have at least a basic understanding of performance driving (or a really fast car)

I saw vettes, porsches, lotuses who were pulling 2 minutes/lap... And that was in the "advanced intermediate" group meaning prior track experience

My first day at laguna in 2006 I lapped in the 1:48-1:50 range and my friend who went with me did similar. Both laguna noobs; but not in a slow car. Neither were a noobs to a racetrack then but the car was also prepared a little better than most ;)

Nobody cares what others driving slow do; I suppose the bar is different for everyone :D

I was at Laguna 2 weeks ago, however I was in a stock GrandSport Vette. Fast cars there tend to be anybody with big brakes and 400+hp. I was running pretty consistent 1:40-1:42's with traffic, rarely got clean laps. Even in the Advanced groups there are tons of very newbie drivers, which seems pretty common in Non-Speedventures HPDE's. SV Red group is by far my favorite run group.

2:35 @ VIR full course. This was my first dry day on the RS3's. There is a lot more in them so I'm trying to find "the edge"...it was easy to find it on regular street tires. Definitely a lot more fun with sticky tires.
