Check the Nurburgring schedule to see if it will be open to drivers the day you are looking to go. It is often closed to the public when it is rented out to car companies, private track days, etc.

      http://nurburgring.org.uk/calendar.php -- schedule

Rent a prepped car from Rent-Racecar.de or the other place some people mentioned. I used Rent-Racecar.de years ago when I went and they were just getting it going. Theo who runs it is a great guy and will take you around the track for a hell of a ride in his unassuming Golf TDI which keeps up with 911s in the turns, the entire time he is looking at you explaining the track while he isn't even looking at it he knows it so well.

Don't take your random rental car out on the track. If something happens you are screwed. Rental companies also have folks there who look out for their cars being taking onto the 'ring. They will take photos of it as proof and charge you $OMG when you return the car.

I took my rental to the track, but only went at touring/lunch lap speeds. I have a decent amount of track experience, and I would not want to go anywhere more than 5/10ths since there are just way too many curves. The amount of elevation changes is really impressive as well.

My wife and I, along with my friend and his fiancee got right off the plane in Frankfurt and drove directly to the ring. We did our two laps, bought the t-shirt then went off to munich for ocktoberfest.

I wish I could go again.

They have cars at the ring that you can rent to drive around it in.

I will take you round ;)

Check Jaco's paddock and higher out an E36 325i touring car for 300 euros or a E46 M3 for 500 euros!

I have been 6 times this year wet and dry! Always leave not wanting to.

If Megan Fox asks you to practice making a baby with her...you do it.

The Nurburgring is Megan Fox! Now do her!

Of course you are going to the ring. I came back from the ring last Tuesday, I can feel the ring fever already...
Get a hatchback rental with r compound tires, and you will be able to go very fast on the track. They can be very hard to keep up with.
Two years ago my e30 was crashed the day before going to Germany, So we had to drive my friends Audi A4 1.8tq. Even that was fun. :P

R888 og 595 rs-r is on my to-do list before next years trip to Nürburg.

Im leaving for the ring in an hour!! I rented a swift at rentracecar. The GTI was already rented and I preferred a small car for my first experience on the ring so the swift will be perfect!

Moreover, the WRC will be here next week!!! I will be there on friday with vip ticket!!

                  what a trip!!

                      WOW!!!

It was a blast!!! a lot of very fast trafic, you almost have to look as much in the mirrors than in front!! so many nice cars!! The track is just a dream come true!! Its very fast and tricky, I would really like to get to know the track and to really enjoy it to its best!! I did four laps, two set of two laps so it was just enough to get a feel of it. One thing is sure, I will be back!!

Who did you go through, or did you chance a regular rental car?

Glad you enjoyed, I can't wait to get back.
