What tires should I run on a 15x8 rim?

I'm looking at getting some 15x8s, and are going to use them for street/autox/light track use. I want something with a decent tread life as tires are a pretty big expense for me right now. I know I'll atleast have to run a 235, but Im wondering if I can squeeze 245s in.

    I would go with 225/50.

Unfortunately there aren't a whole lot of other size options in 15". It would be great if someone made a good tire in 245/45-15, but nope. :x

There isn't anything wider than a 225 in 15" for our cars in the NA market. If you want to ship tires from Japan then that's your business, but I can't justify the costs. :P

      Whatcha gettin? K1's?

There's a good selection of tires in that size as well.

Not unless you plan on widening those pretty red fenders...

There is no point to try to squeeze in the biggest tire you can. Going slightly under will provide better handling AND grip due to the angle of the tire sidewall on the wheel. This is of course with ideal tire pressures.

May not be as noticable on an auto-x circuit, but it becomes really apparent on the track.
