    Xtr clutches

Is anybody familiar with this brand? I'm looking into getting their stage 3 kit for my 5.0 swap. They seem to be a rebranded F1 Racing Clutches which people seem to like. Opinions, different suggestions and anything else are welcome!

    Thanks.

I also do believe that xtr and f1 are sourced from the same manufacturer. I currently have a f1 stage3 clutch mated to a lightened single mass flywheel and its been great. It not nearly as hard to drive as some people say and it grabs awesome. I plan on throwing it on my s50 swap in the near future. For the price you cant go wrong.

I have one. The 6 puck stg3. Grabs hard and has been holding up to all kinds of good ole hp/tq abuse.
Ebay has them for cheaper I think. I did a local pickup from eBay on mine.

Good to hear! I thought I had seen a thread of a bunch of people loving their F1's. Pretty cheap, and the motor I'm looking at needs a clutch, so I think I'll go stage 3. I've heard mustang clutches are crap, so this should help get the feel I'm looking for.

          how long u had it?
these clutches used to sketch me out based on price but as a begining drifter I just need something that grabs stronger. i love spec clutches in other cars ive had but i dont see the sense of paying so much just to kick the shit out of it and need another one possibly a year later.lol

how well do these stage 2's grab. ive seen pl putting the 3's on swaps but I still have the M20. since im drifting should I really look into the stage 3? thats the only place im not sure. Funfgan, if u get this ill have an excuse to come up to bmore and meet ya. and maybe drive ur car to get the feel?haha
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.

            Haha, we'll see. A stage 3(out of 4) on a 5.0 is going to feel a lil different than a stock m20.

ive been drifting for almost 2 years and have yet to find a need for a stage 3 clutch setup yet. not trying to bash you or saying that im the best driver in the world, cause im not. i have an oe clutch in my current drift car, and in last drift car, and they grab great in my opinion. unless your clutch is on the way out, i would spend the money on something else

I had an XTR 6 puck sprung....from like a few years back. Total shit compared to the f1 clutches now. But then again, maybe they were still trying to figure out what clutch mfg to buy from. It chatters a good amount..

I have the F1 stg 3, got it from eBay. I can't complain about it. I was worried about drive-ability from what so many people have said but it is fine. Grabby, but fine.

pucked clutches are really not the way to go unless you have a grand am race car.

I am using a M50 but going boost, so I found this one:

Will hold my goal HP quite well, even get a aluminum flywheel! Kinda too good to believe....makes me worried that you get all that for the price of a well known Hiperformance clutch and pressure plate.

I've heard lots of good things about the F1 racing clutches. Highly considering it for my turbo m20 build.

Ive kicked my clutch to the point where im getting a very annoying ratteling noise. And the OEM doesnt "bite" as hard as id like. Even when I clutch kick it sometimes feels like the clutch slowl lets out instead of grabing quicker.
These f1 clutches seem to be straight tho!
