You could run with either but honestly the welded diff would be better if you adjust your driving style.
Obviously you'll want to rotate through the tighter corners, in essence drifting it through.
Although if running with the SCCA they tend to from upon this type of driving if its too wild.
I would not bother running with the open unless you just absolutely have to.

You should try coming out with the LSC BMWCCA chaper. WAY more relaxed and informal than the SCCA.
PLus I've drifted many runs with them with no hassles. :D

TMS bus lot surface is the best if you like super slick and greasy conditions. :p
But I'm referring to running there in the summer when its 105+ out. :(

Hey man, after checking out your vid I think I know your car.
Did you get it from a guy that lived down in Deep Ellum area on Clover street?

Welded diff's are fun but get old as they cause oversteer to quickly on the street. Especially with a big rear sway bar. Just stick with a LSD unless you like it slideways.

Driving in the rain with a welded diff sounds like suicide.

yup welded diffs make driving interesting, I have an LSD(3.91s) I might put back in but it doesn't always lock up perfectly so I might sell it and get a different one to put in, If any of you guys want a worn 3.91 to use or rebuild let me know
