Just ordered some Hancook Z214. Any experience with these?

I got tired of dealing with old/hard R-comps (you may have seen my other thread asking about tire softener). I decided to order some fresh rubber with some of my tax return. I went for the extra $60 for heat cycling in hopes that they'll last a bit longer.

The plan is to use these R-comps for autocross and keep the RS3s on for track days as they should be bit more forgiving.

    Any opinions or input?

Definitely curious about these as well. Quite a bit cheaper than A6's, just curious how they compare.

Better grip than a toyo; closer to an R6, but not sure A6 level of grip. I didn't like them because they don't take the beating that the Toyo takes, and they don't tell me they are beaten!

cosm3os... clarify which Toyo you are comparing against. RA-1 or R888.

        thx.

What compound did you get them in? C71 is autoX, C51 is track. I tried a set of c71s on my Datsun a couple years ago. They looked good, felt soft to the touch but had 0 grip what so ever. Even with the tires hot to the touch, they had no grip. Granted, the tires were used, and I had no idea how many runs they had on them, but they were heat cycled out.

Last year I did a race at Laguna Seca and my 7 year old RA1s turned faster times than a set of hardly used Hoosier R6s by about 2 seconds. Go figure. I thought the RA1s were going away, but the car was more of a handful with the R6s on and there for slower. I couldn't tell you why.

I switched from the RA1 to the z214 and it was like going from street tires to RA1's. Crazy grip. It was hard to find the limit.

I got the C71 soft autocross compound. I sure hope they have more than "0" grip.

I much prefer the sound of this.

That's a better way to say what I was trying to say. I was faster on RAs just because I was more comfortable on them. This was TT and W2W, not autox FWIW.
