Honestly speaking...learn stock form first! Putting coils and this and that is like cheating. I learned on a bone stock ae86.... Bone stock! Then springs and shocks then 2way LSD...chassis stiffening stuff...than lots of tires...than motor upgrades....in every car I got...this was how I started. Fc turbo...started stock...than coil overs, shoe combo...then motor....my first e30, my sig...started as a stock 318is with melted springs and blown shocks(which I don't ever advise) on its first drift day....I like to always starting with a stock platform...LSD is a must is you want to do more than right turns and donuts... But learning how the car weight shifts on its own stock sized rims and suspension(considering they aren't falling apart) will teach you how your own self drives and can manipulate the car to do what you want it to do. Believe me...the e30 practically loves oversteer and will naturally correct itself in understeer conditions if you tell her...I see all the noobs buying coil overs and hids and straight pipes and they can't even do a figure 8 or crash up curbs. Humans didn't didn't start walking with nikes on....come on...baby steps..once you learn...if you track it...don't go cheap quality. And have a lot of replacement parts handy...6e30s later and now i am a stockish m20b25 400lbs coils up front, 250lbs coil springs in the rear ,hd Billy's, ie camber plates and tower bars, 3.73lsd and she does fine and I def. have loads of fun.imo...key.
