Bummer. The Massive side mounts don't fit the RaceTech RT1000 seats. The mounting holes on the seat are much closer than the holes on the Massive bracket. Going to have to email them in the moring and find out what the deal is...

Racetech seats do not fit Sparco, Momo or Recaro sidemounts because of their particular bolt pattern. Bimmerworld's litterature states the following: "Racetech Mounting Bracket Set for RT1000/4000 -- Racetech seats require Racetech mounting brackets"

Basically it seems that Racetech is making sure you will not purchase sidemounts from any other supplier but them... I don't understand the need to be non-standard in a discipline where people change their seat every 5 years...

hpde30, sorry to hear that the Massive e30 mounts don't work with the Racetechs. I remember reading when I was seat hunting that Racetech required their own brackets but I didn't make the connection. Apologies!

No worries, Boris3. I should have done more research on my own. Even Massive wasn't aware of the racetech seats not fitting at the time of my order.

I reached out to them this morning. I'll update this thread when I know more.

To those who purchased Racetech seats. Was there any comment from the vendor in regard of the sidemounts? They sure knew that only Racetech units will work. Momo/Sparco/Recaro and Massive units won't do.

You just have to drill another hole to get any of the other sidemounts to work, not really a deal breaker

Would have rather bought something specific for my application rather than just drilled a hole to make it work. My thinking is that these brackets were engineered with those holes seeing a specific amount of load in case of an accident (this is just an assumption, I don't know if the brackets were actually engineered or not, but I sure hope they are). Adding holes to something that could same my ass just didn't give me a warm and fuzzy feeling.

Sent the brackets back to Massive last week. Awaiting a full refund. The search continues.
