    Nt01 tire pressure?

Just bought some Nitto nt01s for my track setup. My last set were r888s and I'm looking forward to the comparison. Anyone know where to start cold with the pressures on an e30? Where do we want to be hot? I've searched online and found people like 36-38 hot on various cars. Just looking for some input on what to run on our cars. Thanks guys.

If I recall correctly, do a few hot laps after warm up and check to make sure they're around 37-39. Then again that's with a turbo car. I get better wear with little to no loss in time at a slightly higher pressure. Just be smooth. They really aren't that picky with pressures, as compared with r888. I like the r888s, but I LOVE the nt01s. My favourite tire actually, too bad all the spec classes run other tires... Oddly for me, the RA1 ranks third to these two.

The NT01's are definitely a great tire. I found with the 245's, they were optimal at 35 hot.

best way to tell is to measure the tire temps on the outsides and middle of each tire. adjust to get the temps even on all 4 corners (not completely possible, one pair will usually be warmer than the others), and even across the tire as much as possible. If you have to choose, it's better to be hotter on the insides than on the outsides.

pyrometers that actually touch the tire's surface are best, but cheap infrared ones work fine if you understand their limitations.

We run them on our club race car.

We start out cold around 28 or 29.

We use a pyrometer to check temps. Hot pits are the best way to check during a practice session or checking them as soon as we exit the track before we get to our trailer.

Where do you like them hot?

I think we like them in the 35 or 36 range.

What I like about NT01s is that they are consistent and they are long lasting (multiple events).

Pretty accurate, but you should see a 15 to 20 degree spread with the inside edge being hotter than the outside. Most of a lap is spent driving in a straight line, which increases temperatures on the inside edge. If the pressures are even across the tread, you need a bit more camber.

So I ran the nt01s at Spring Mountain outside of Vegas and they were solid. I ran 37 hot and thought they were perfect. These tires were a great buy and I have no regrets buying them over the r888s.

Depending on the track, I usually start around 30-33 cold at SOW and Buttonwillow. I maintain 35-36 hot.

I ran mine around 38-40psi hot and had good success -- they wore like iron too. I got at least 30 heat cycles out of them

We run 35.5. Any higher and they get greasy after a short while, any lower and too much rollover.
