How did y'all mount your cool shirt cooler?

How did you attach it to the car? I'm hoping to put mine in the passenger side of the car. Got it 2nd hand with no mount so I'm thinking about a strap or something. Ideas? Pics would be great.

I put mine in the spare tire well. I used some sheet metal with 1/2" ring bolts with fender washers. I use 2 racheting straps to secure it.

I bent up a shallow box out of 3/32 aluminum, cut a couple slots in the sides for a tie down strap, and bolted the box to the car. Do not, repeat, do not attempt to hold the mount down with sheet metal screws, they won't hold and you really don't want the cooler to come adrift in a race (especially if it is in the cabin)
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

I think I'll go the ratchet strap route. I have mounts for a passenger side seat belt there to mount them too. Hope I can make it secure enough.

Most people do. I had heat stroke in a race a few months back. Came in all dizzy and yakked. Not fun.

It's a bit warmer than your road car when you're in a triple layer Nomex suit, with nomex undies, and you're wrestling a car with no power steering as hard as you can make it go...in 110F+ heat ;)

It sounds to me like you need a cool suit and not just a cool shirt.

Get some of those cheap-a$$ straps from Harbor Freight. That way if you need to remove it for weight savings (I think it's pointless to use during sprint races), it's quick and easy..

Could you post photos of how you ran the ratchet straps? Can't seem to get a system that works. Flops all over the place.

Still have no idea which wire out of the spaghetti coming out of the dash is for the 12v plug either

As usual I was over thinking it. I tried to wrap the tie-down all the way around it which gave it no leverage. Straight over the top worked fine to hold it down. I bolted an L bracket in front of it with some industrial strength velcro on it to keep it from sliding around. Seems real sturdy.

Now I get to start the hunt for the old cigarette lighter wire! Looks like everything unnecessary has been removed...well now I need it hehe.

Sorry for the delay, but it looks like you got it all sorted out. Here is a picture of mine anyways. I run 2 ratchet straps around and hook into the bolts. The black is toolbox liner.
