Nice. I've got a fixed back in the passenger spot that doesn't give me that option.

BTW, I rode to the event on the R-comps with no issues. I got the 2nd fastest time out of 60 cars, behind a National Champ Autoxer in a Boxster. (This was a Porsche club event, not SCCA). Lots of fun!

        That's crazy. Congrats man.
Good to know our cars can still beat fancy expensive new sports cars.

They're road legal for a reason, and you won't generate much in the way of either heat or wear in highway driving.

They are road legal because the SCCA rulebook says they have to be for use in stock classes... As I mentioned earlier they have "Not intended for highway use" molded right into the sidewalls.

Wouldn't drive on the freeway with the track tires on, but I do drive to PIR with them on for races there. It's all surface streets, and never had any issues. Plus it's under 5 miles so not a huge stretch.

I also carry my rain's with me in the back area (like the previous post's photo shows. In fact, at the last race of the season for me, I had my drys on the car, the wets in the trunk and rear seat area, my tool box, 4 fuel cans, my popup, racegear, mtn bike, and two tubs of spares loaded in the race car. Drove to the track on Friday after work, and back on Sunday evening.

Course, my car is still street legal in a sense (Oregon allows you to register a race car with a driving radius limit of 90 miles..)
