That's my plan for the spring, I don't have enough friction right now to make any brake upgrade noticeable. My sole mod for then is just brake maintenance, so I can shut your ass up when I hit Shannonville.

They are very quiet. They squeal a bit a low speeds (coming to a full stop) but it's not bad. Some anti-squeal compound would help immensely.

        Peer pressure works :)

I'm going to rebuild my full brake system this winter, rebuilt calipers, new (non-chinese) rotors, SS lines, race fluid. I also need to look into some R-comps, as I don't want to burn up street tires.

remember too that sticky tires can help you stop quicly too. they matter a LOT in auto-x, so be sure they are paired well with what pads you do choose.

          have fun
new RS-2s are stick icky good. w00t.

Ferrodo 2500 ps or sp or something... thats what i'm picking up for my new brake setup for the comming year... i did a lot of research and everyone seems to think these are better than the hawks, but not as well known. They do dust like all hell...

PBR metal master pads are great for the street as they are SUPER cheap... i don't like them for auto x, and i baked them at the track in a session.... i wouldn't recommend then for anything other than a DD

Late to the thread but it's the best single all around pad (cheap, bitey, heat resistant, rotor friendly, fairly quiet) ever made IMHO. They're dusty as hell but who cares, etc.

They'll handle more heat than Hawk HPS before fading, and they're quieter.

They'll handle way more heat than Metal Masters as well.

I've not run Ferodo or Pagid on an E30 so I can't comment about those.

I can say that I put 6 track days, 4 autocrosses, and ~5000 street miles on an E30 with Ultimates (+ ducting + Ate Super Blue) and never had a problem with 'em or complaint about 'em.

And they're uber-cheap if you know where to look ;-)

              Hope it helps-

5,000 k report on HPS's, almost no dust compared to stock, and the dust that does come on just rinses off with high pressure water. Nice when you have weaves or caps.

Braking power, slightly better than stock when cold, but after some spirited driving bite like mofos.

Can't wait to get the rears in now :)

I think im going with the ultimates. Best place to get them? $45/front $40/rear on TMS. Im sure theres got to be a cheaper place.

As time went on, the factory developed the car each year, making it faster, more comfortable, and capable of handling at higher speeds.

bma has them for 37 dollars. i usually buy my brake stuff from them, prices are the same for other stuff as my local place, but they have the best price on ultimates, and ordered over $50 get free shipping.

^thats the reason i changed to 5-spoke rims
i think im going with the ultimates as well. i have regular pagids and they are great street pads but under so much as Atlanta's summer heat, highway speed and traffic, they fade.

Got the ultimates, front and rear. What is the proper break-in procedure for these pads? Tried searching for their website but came up with nothing.

Ask Jon(Getfast) I think it's like 10 REALLY good stops from 100mph or something, lol.
