If you are braking at the top, things have gone terribly wrong in your world and they are about to get worse....and you must change your name to Ryan Ockey.

In fact, here is what happens when you brake at the top of the Corkscrew....

Nah, that's what happens if you screw up. You can trailbrake it just fine, but whether you need to or not is a different question.

I've heard other than the corkscrew Laguna is kinda of boring.

VIR has a corkscrew but it isn't nearly as steep (but is spooky in the snow). It was there for the first time years ago, that I realized, "Yes, fwd cars can oversteer."

Out of curiosity, why did you run in an intermediate group? How much experience did you have in other people's cars? The entry/exit/apex cones are cheating :P

Werd. I found that my braking zone was basically from the crest of 7 to the apex of 8.

I've actually only been on track twice before. I chose the "faster intermediate group" because I didn't feel like holding anyone up in the advanced group and I didn't feel like being held up in the beginner/slow intermediate group. Call me Goldilocks. :)

Cones are kinda cheating if you don't know what you're doing. We knew the track pretty well from sims, I didn't notice them until later in the day.

nothing at Laguna is boring at all.

turn 2 is a single or double apex corner depending on traffic in the way

turn 5 is a "how good is my footwork setup corner"
turn 6 is " how well can I hang on to speed to the point of loosing the rear on corner exit"

            turn 7a/7b......

Yeah I was pretty lucky for that. Here are the first laps, featuring the most amazing cameraman and audio you've ever seen:

I've never been on it, buddy of mine was out there for a bike trackday last year and found everything except the corkscrew boring. We're kind of spoiled here in the VA area with the number of tracks within a couple of hours.

It just appears less engaging than VIR or shenandoah probably because of fewer turns and variety of turns.

There was a bunch of us that were going to drag down our PRO3 cars for Oktoberfest, but last we heard the race was off due to the noise restrictions.

Completely lame. The track was there before the homes.

Honestly people, YOU BOUGHT A HOUSE NEXT TO A RACE TRACK!

Funny how Grand Am had no noise restriction when the Ferrari Challenge and Clienti comes with the F1 cars.

Here is a hint: You really shouldn't be looking at it.

Answer: A view of the ocean.

I never noticed it until we had a yellow flag lap.

NASA will be running there (race and TT only) with a 102db limit for our Spec E30 race on July 6-7.

                                Can't wait for that one...
