Are there any rules requiring 15x10's, or is the main reason the ability to fit 275/35's? Aka, would it be horrible to get a 15x9.5 et0 instead? It would save the trouble of having to buy spacers, would be slightly lighter and could fit with a smaller flare.

No, it's mainly to get the most out of the tire. In reality, a 15x11 would be even better for the 275/35.

Many guys in the Miata world are running 205/50 Hoosier R6 on 15x9s because it's proved to be faster to keep going wider on the wheels.

^ correct, there are several 15x9's out there although not dedicated lightweight e30 race wheels.

There is nothing out there to run a 275/35. also during the feeler, the interest was mainly on the 15x10 nobody really expressed an interest in purchasing a 15x9.

the 15x9 would be a great option for people looking to run 225/45/15 street tires in STX or something not quite as aggressive in SM/DSP locally. but the 275/35 is where its at to be really fast in an e30

The miata guys have been proving for quite some time that the widest wheel/smallest tire tends to be the fast way around the track and If I'm not mistaken a new article in GRM also said the same thing.

To be fair $240 for a lightweight, 15x10 made for a specific application by a very reputable company is actually really cheap.

If you want a set Jongbloed custom 3-piece 15x10s, you're going to be knocking on the door of $3000.

I wasn't saying the price of the wheels was expensive, I was referring to fixing the issues with my car. The price is fantastic, but without a running car I'd be hard parking on them in my garage.

16s have very poor tire selections - both for street tires and r-comps. Tires sized appropriately to make use of a 16x10 have dated compounds or have been discontinued. It's not to say that they don't exist. I just think 15s are better.

Your best options for running R-comps on a 10" wide wheel are either 15s or 17s - much better tire selection with newer compounds.

I would say a regular 6ul with a bit more concave. They're going to look nice, I am curious to see how it looks on the car. I am certain they won't fit with the suggested tire under the stock fender; let alone rolled and pulled, but we all already knew that :nice: I see these fitting under some nice fender flares tucked nicely with meaty tires yum:p

Is this basically another hella flush ricer type wheel that doesn't really
fit and you need hella flush 215/ tires and spacers to run?

Are these going to be e30 specific and will be able to run the correct tire?

They'll look very similar to the picture in the first post but will likely have more lip, I'll update the picture with an actual 3D model once Jongbloed has it completed.

Without lots of ride height or very stiff suspension you are correct, it will be tough to "fit" under stock fenders, its assumed someone looking for a 10" track wheel is looking to fit 275's and willing to make the sacrifices needed to get that much rubber.

Hoyabmw was running some different 15x10's with the same specs as these jongbloed wheels under stock fenders rolled/pulled as seen here:

Not sure if you're serious or trolling, but per the thread title, as well as the first post, this wheel is a track fitment wheel designed specifically to fit 275/35/15 HOOSIER A6/R6 racing slicks....or the 245 width street tire (if it ever comes to fruition)..... As far as fitting under stock fenders? yes you'll want to run a stretched tire, but that is not what these wheels are intended for.

Exciting update! Jongbloed will also make this wheel in a 5x120 pattern for those of you interested in running these on a 5 lug swapped car.

Also see the first post for an updated rendering of what the 15x10 wheel is expected to look like!

I'm planning to send out payment instructions by the end of this week as we've got almost 15 people interested between the 4x100 and 5x120
Its looking like payment will go as follows: 50% up front to Jongbloed, and then once the wheels arrive to them they will expect the other 50% payment before sending out the wheels.

FYI, the above pic was my old setup. There was very little metal cut out--just the lower front valence trimmed a tiny bit. The rest was done with a very aggressive fender rolling, but it did fit. I was limited in how much I could lower the rear, so I changed it and added DTM Fiberworks flares that I cut for clearance. It is much easier to fit on an early car as the rear arches are higher.
