Thats a good point about the time of year, I'll give it another whirl come spring and see what happens.

The only downside then is with the 3 month turn around time Jongbloed needs to get a mold made and get the first batch of wheels completed that puts many of us in a bind of getting track wheels halfway through the season vs ordering them now and having them by the start of the season.

Don't feel bad, I'm getting a surprising lack of interest from the Miata community as well for the 15x9s.

very disappointing. Only pony up half now, half in 3-4 months. Oh well, at least I don't HAVE to have these, just would like to retire one existing set.

            Flip side.

I just had a nice conversation with the owner of a very well known Miata tuner and parts seller about carrying the Jongbloed 15x9 (in Miata offsets obviously).......so it may still happen, just not in group buy format.

I would of at least been on the GB for these but you need to
cut up your car to run flares. Mine is a street car.

Yeah, unfortunately it's become mostly baggy pants, flat bill wearing broke kids who buy FCP Groton.

"Track guys" run 225/45-R15 tires and prefer direct-fit wheels. So, 15x10" wheels requiring spacers isn't exactly what they're looking for.

Quite true, generally the track guys prefer being out on track vs in the garage figuring out how to make something work.
I am surprised at how few auto-x guys are interested in running 275/35/15 although I can understand that at that point we're talking about a wheel/tire combo that costs more than most people bought their e30's for.

With those sizes and the amount of work/modifications it will take to get 15x10s with 275s to work, the e30 will likely land in BSP, FP, or some sort of class where it's not going to be competitive.

I'm not really sure exactly what class the E30 is competitive in. I'm guessing the car is more for "fun" and likely won't win you a jacket at nationals any time soon. which, if that's the case, I'd rather just run 15x8s on 225s (of which there are many options), call it a day and use all the extra money on fees, fuel, travel expenses, and consumables.

Tires are free, the car is classed in DSP. Cut the fenders, stuff the tires under. 15x10.5, 275s is easy.

The E30 is definitely competitive. Trophies to E30s the past 2 years at nationals. Right, a jacket isn't likely any more, but being in the thick of things is.
