VDO gauges in DIN slot

I want to install this in my Radio slot instead of down by the ashtray



just wondering where I could relocate the headunit? Has anyone moved that down low by the ashtray?pics would be nice...

My other idea is to eliminate the headunit completely and just play music directly from my ipod since thats pretty much what I do anyways, but not sure how the sound quality would be using the headphone jack. Id rather use the USB side, but am clueless how that can connect to the amp.

i have a friend of mine who used a 3.5mm headphone jack to component splitter to his amp and he plays his music that way in his crawling rig it works okay just turning up the volume is wierd...
