I know a fair few people who have done it. Sounds amazing fun.
The thing is, for our car market, you really don't get much for a thousand. And that thousand isn't just the purchase price of the car, but it's got to have rego (which depending on the state can be a thousand dollars plus for a year's worth).
And with that $1000 worth of car you've gotta go on some of the most ridiculous roads around.

Really do want to have a go, though. No chance an E30 would make it to be honest
