    Anyone willing to PWN at this event?

    It's for charity, but it's a local competition, and I'd like to see someone give the mulletheads a surprise.

    The Winged Warrior Performance Challenge 2006 will consist of the following 7 events:

    * AutoCourse (an autocross with both low and high speed sections)
    * Skidpad
    * Drag Race
    * 0 - 60mph (timed on the same pass as the drag race)
    * Slalom
    * 100mph - 0mph Braking
    * Car Show (performance cars will be scored, but their show score does not affect the performance challenge results)

    Autocross has some long straight aways,

    but there's no reason a light, great handling car can't tear up at the skidpad, etc.

    100 treadwear minimum.

    C///M? Stu? anyone?

    Surprisingly no Miatas are signed up yet.

      sadly, all it will take is a single C6 Z06 to whip every e30's ass in those categories.

            I'd do it to just drive on an airport tarmac.
            The BMW 318 is back. With a vengeance.

              The slalom, skidpad, braking are events the right light car with good suspension and brakes could win.

              Most entrants so far are the local street racing board's dyno queens and average weight is probably 3500lbs right now.

                Sounds like a blast. I would love to do it, but sadly none of us would stand a chance against 500whp Evos.

                Anyone else notice that they don't mention where the event takes place anywhere?

                    There's an Elise.

                    Anything an e30 can do an Elise can do better (with a competent driver).

                      Chris (Elise owner) is pretty Auto-X experienced and couple track days under his belt.

                        I looked for exactly 3 seconds and there are at least 5 cars on team USA that would simply embarrass an e30, and at least 10 on team import. Is that your idea of "pwning" an event?

                          It'd take a lightweight 318is and a good amount of rubber and suspension, but someone could potentially medal at the non-horsepower events.

                          Whatever, if no one wants to go out and play, don't. But it's a good cause, and there are very few cars under 3000lbs. Mostly dyno queens.

                            I agree, but 90% of those cars looks to be decently modded as well. Vettes can pull over 1g stock on the skidpad, probably more with mods.

                              who cares if you win, if I was on the left coast I'd go just for fun! you'll have an idea of your real 0-60 times, 100mph-0 braking times, etc. etc. And I've seen it over and over, just because you drive a big HP car doesn't mean you're fast (500hp evos, oh no!).
