20 ft. enclosed cargo mate. I kind of wish I had gotten a 24 with heavier axles but the 20 fits in the driveway easier.
Think about what you are towing with and how much it can handle, GCVW not just tongue weight.

I am surprised I have never seen your trailer before Toby, did you get it built local or something you bought from some one else?

That's because I'm ashamed of my ghetto little dumper trailer
and hide it in the back of the trailer parking yard...

I built it out of some parts that were lying around the shop about 10 years back.
It doesn't fit the E30 so well, so it REALLY looks ghetto with boards on it for spacers.
But it DOES dump and load pretty easily, and tows really nice...
... for what it is... and it's only #700.

Do you have pics of your trailer Toby? I've been thinking a small single axle will work fine for an E30, you see it in europe all the time.

We go big with our pickup trucks in 'Merica... same with our trailers!

a few years later, right about as I was learning about differential shock rebound rates...

The trick is to get a heavy, drop- spindle axle and then run trailer brakes. I've towed all sorts of shit
all over the state (and up to Canada) with it, and it behaves very well behind a small tow vehicle
(note Montero in background- yep, that worked)

Toby, that's a good looking trailer, there's no reason to be ashamed of that.

14' IS very tight- but it has springs and tilts, so I load and unload with a winch, and
while it takes a couple of minutes, it works pretty well. Tiedown is a bit of a pain, too.

For open trailers, get a Trailex. 845lbs empty, can tow with a smallish tow vehicle. It's expensive, but, consider it a lifetime trailer. Look for a used one. If / when you want to sell, people will be lined up to buy it, usually at more than what you've paid for it. See mine attached. I've towed my e46xi touring and e30 touring with it. My tow vehicle is usually a Ford ranger 4x4 with a 4.0v6 - no issues at all.
