Went with 245/45/15 15x8 installed pics

Any ideas if they are too big for the 15x8 wheel for the e30?

Its an Early model sedan with 24v swap track car.

I have TR motorsports 15x8 wheels and im looking to buy some TOYO R888.

Just wanted to have the widest r888 tire icould get.
They come in 235/50/15 and 225/50/15.

    Also 245/45/15 is an option....

For clearance i have a set of wide fender flares i can install. Just not shure if the tires are too tall/big.

    Thanks

I'd go for 225/45/15. Depending on right height and offset, that will be pretty comfortable with stock bodywork. I have run the first-gen BFG Rivals as well as Hankook RS3s on 8" wheels and spece30 stuff with no issues. I'd guess r888s probably run a little wider, however.

I would stick to 205's or 225's on those wheels. I think Wh33lhop ran that exact setup for a while, pics should be fairly early in his build thread

Edit: He ran 205 R888's on his 15x8 C1's, and 225 RS3's before that. They look about the same width in the pictures though.

          I have trm c1 on my car with 225 50 15. Either go 225 50 or 205 50.

I use 225-45-15 on 15x8 TRMs. There's a hairs worth of clearance on the front strut tubes but its worked out great.

R888s are much wider. The size you want would prob fit better on a 15x9. A 225/45/15 r888 can be compared a 245 almost

Dedicated track tires or mixed weekend/track use?

In either case, I'd suggest another tire. R888 is the worst R-comp I've ever tried. Grip isn't that great and they wear funny. Unbelievably sensitive to setup and heat; you really need to baby them.

Got a good deal from a friend who just got the Achilles Radial line here in PRon some ATK K-sport 245/45/15 track tires.
Going to give them a try.

They look good on the E30, lets see how they behave on the track...

Drove the car today and no rubbing anywhere.
All i have is a 5mm spacer up front.
Might get some 5mm for the rear too so it looks a bit better.

Really liked how it turned out. Feels good on the street.
