There is a guy in San Diego that is preparing an iX for rally duty. He has just started up his own tuning shop as well. It might be worth talking to him. His website:

Not much on it yet but his contact info, and the grand opening has been changed to next weekend (it says this last weekend on the website but I just got an e-mail from him announcing the date).

In Spokane, WA. we have a winter RallyX. 2 years ago was our very first event and it was on dirt, pics below...

After that event we went to 'Snow Only' events. It's now a yearly winter series and is run on a airport runway in Deer Park, WA. More info can be found at www.ASNW.org . Go to the forums and RallyX section to find out what it's been like and as winter approaches the schedule will be posted on the main page.

If you run at Jean, your car will never be the same again. I have never run at Jean, but I have run at Johnson Valley in CA (another dry lakebed). The dust at Johnson Valley is pretty bad, it gets into everything, and people that have run at both say that Jean is worse. I don't think that you can get all the dust out of your seats, carpet, etc. My car is a dedicated dirt car so I don't really care, but I would never take my daily driver to either Jean or Johnson Valley. Some pictures from Jean:

Is that an 86. I love those cars. I was lookin for one but everyone thinks they are worth way more than they are. Either way im happy with my E30. I really dont care about the dirt its not my daily.

Yeah, it's the AE86 chassis Corolla. It's a fun car to drive, even if it's a bit low on the horsepower. They definitely are overpriced, but I got mine before they became totally rediculous. Maybe I will see you at the next Jean rally x then, I have been meaning to make it out there.

I so would like to build a car for Rallycross. Especially after attending the one today in Hillsboro, OR and driving it in the X5...

Rallyx is why I don't get speeding tickets. I have fun where it's supposed to be had.

Oh, and 4x4 status ftw (preferred by 9 out of 10 oilpans).

if you're wondering, my car probably hates me.

Suspension, you ask? OE shocks :(, OE springs, new subframe & diff bushings, reinforced subframe :(, 75D CABs, new sway links, and my favorite addition, a 4.27 torsen replacing a 3.73 OE LSD.
