    Slipstreams for track wheels

I am sure at least a few guys use these as track wheels. I searched but nothing really came up. I really just want them for a wider wheel to put beefier tires on them.

I am thinking about 15x8 Slipstreams but not sure about the weight of them.

Do you think that although the 16X8 weigh more they might be better since i can run a 225 Azenis on them as apposed to the stretched 205 which i would run on the 15?

    Any input would be appreciated.

My 16's are only like 15-16 lbs at most. They are pretty light. I run mine as street wheels, but they fit my 225s perfect with no spacers or hub rings.

I'm running 16x8 Slips with 205/50 Ecsta SPT's. Love the set up on road & track. Never AutoX'd so I can't speak to that.

            Track or autocross?
I'd run the RA1's if it's just for track days.

The cool thing about Slips is they will clear any BBK.

You can still run 16s in DSP also, or go big like Alex with 18x10s :)

I know that, but the only reason id go 16 is to run the wider azenis.

If i was running RComp id run 15s, because they are smaller, lighter, and i can get some WIDE hoosiers in 15, and cheaper lol

I'm looking to get a set of the 16x8 slips to run wider rubber than my 7" wheels.

the only azenis i can find in a 16" size is a 215/45-16 (same as my rs2s)... in order to go to a 225 it looks like you have to oversize at 50 profile.

am i looking in the wrong place?

Personally I'd do the 15's and R compounds.

Ya, if i was going to run R comps, id get 15.

Prolly next year ill go up to DSP, (Less cars and no WRXs)

I honestly thought that the 225 was a 40 series tire.... damn.... ill check around.

My 15x8 ET 20 slipstreams were 14.8 lbs. each, so 16s shouldn't be that much heavier.
