    A) This is a NASA car that will never be raced with the BMWCCA. It's still legal for both organizations.

    B) BMWCCA rules... page 63. "At least one (1) diagonal brace shall be used..."

    C) What do you mean by rear horizontal? Rear shock tower bar? Not needed based on a number of factors.

      Matt,
      Here is better!

Done by a good ole NC boy.

Note the A pillar bar is way up in the dash and yes a dash bar up in there too!

Do these NASCAR bars look weak or bad to anyone?

No one even mentions using a "good" seat mounting point. How's this one look to you guys?

That is a nice seat mount.

The NASCAR bars look really good. Most people stick them into the gutted door, not realizing that this sturcture is designed to collapse in as far as it sticks out. Yours sticks out very little, and should not pose a danger in a side impact.

NASCAR bars are significantly less stiff (as is the very unorthodox bar arrangement on the passenger side of the car posted above) than an X in the door frame.

Ideally, a combination of both with some sort of energy absorbing medium would be used, but that's outside the budget of most club racers. And most pro racers.

Good Seat mount. My personal favorite would be having the seat mounted to the cage. You know where the cage is going in a wreck.

Thanks for the kind comments! This cage wasn't cheap but both my wife and I sleep better at night because of it.

A few more pics of it before I painted it. Seat frame is part of cage, not attached to the car. Like the builder said, it's going wherevere the cage goes! I like that!

Wait a second, are you trying to tell me that three bars pressed outward and supported with lower one pressed (tightly) right up against the lower rail of the car itself is going to be weaker then the simple, rather light appearing X you have in your pictures?

Dude, I ain't no rocket scientist, but I ain't stupid either and I'm not sure I can buy that! It kinda appears to be a simple case of spin by someone promoting themself as the "Best cage builder".

I'm looking pretty hard at both pictures and if my A*# is on the line, I'll take "three Nascar bars to win, Alex" over the X you offer.

                  Other opinions????

And here's a shot of REALLY good dash bar placement, look closely, it's where that extra (gusset?) bar goes up and it's way in there. Also, pretty nice foot well protection.

I think you should have started your own thread to show off in. I'm not going to get in a pissing match over this with you.

Anyone who's interested in a cage and wants to know the specific advantages of ours, PM me.

Darn, why do people always acuse me of trying to start a pissing match???

Your the guy that posted a self-promoting thread here in a public forum and started with the whole "mine's best" deal and now when someone who doesn't even have a service to sell trys to add info, you get pissy. If you wanna be in sales, you'll need thicker skin.

Man, I know Bill and his car and it IS a great cage, but come on, as many have stated, it's not the best!

I showed these pictures not to "show off" but to offer YOU (and others) a chance to SEE another few ideas. Guess your too self consumed to be interested in "other ideas".

Good luck and sorry if it seemed like I was pissing on your sales post in a public forum.

                        Time to move on.

I love your seat mount. Exactly what I am going to do when the time comes!

There are a few interesting ideas in your cage. The gussets are nice. And I really do like the seat mount.

Adding info is fine, but coming in here and claiming that your cage IS the best and ours is NOT... might not be the way to do it.

Remember that this cage was built for a specific car, for a specific customer. We can do NASCAR bars, we can do the seat mount to the cage, we can do whatever kind of harness bar you want...

matt, you started a thread claiming to have the best cage in SpecE30.

That sounds like an invitation for challengers in my opinion

Read the first post again, please. This cage is not in my car, and I didn't design it or build it. I am just trying to get the word out that this is a service that TRM provides.

This thread was by no means an invitation to anyone except potential customers.

I think a few people took my comments in this post a little too seriously.
