Anyone going to summit point soon?

In case you didn't know, they repaved it last week. I heard it's a lot faster (track records beat by 2-3 seconds), but what's next to the track is bad news. Very soft filler dirt next to the pavement - go 1 wheel off and your in trouble. Also the sand traps are very very soft, I guess there were 2 rollovers this past weekend. The seam in the center of the track causes some wandering too, I've been told.

I'm going down in November, hope all this shit is straightened out! Anyone who's been there since repaving, let us know what it's like!

You guys South of the border are so lucky to still have a slightly warmer weather than US in Canada. I did my last track weekend on October 13-14 and we almost got snow. Near freezing temps in the morning and rain can easily turn into wet snow. Last year that same event got snow on Sunday. Season is now over for us Canucks.
Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

I was corner flagging at last weeks NASA season closer. Its fast and smooth and grippy, but not very forgiving. I saw plenty of people go one or two wheels off and make it back on just fine. Once it rains (these next few days) the dirt will settle and pack. Its really a fine surface, you've got nothing to worry about.

Glad to hear the stories were just exaggerations. Thanks!

I went out the first week after it was paved with nasa and I was very happy. I have never been out there before but the track was smooth and had alot of grip. The only problem I saw where the dirt packs right off track would blow onto track and make things interesting, but I think that will be fixed after a good rain
